Background Information[]
Katya Markov is a 30 year old woman who was born in Russia but has multiple passports that state she was born in Alaska. Her father is a well respected high ranking officer; a General within the Soviet Union's Military and her mother was a prostitute, that was the General's mistress, she ended up dying during childbirth. The General's wife was livid in finding that there was a child, knowing she was unable to conceive herself. Katya's father was disappointed in her front the start, as he wanted a son. Due to having a child with a mistress, let alone a prostitute, this ended his marriage.
As the years passed, The General was very hard on Katya, causing her to seek approval of her father. She tiredly try to show her father that she was worth something, anything to get the affection and respect she lack. Vigorous training, starting small with security, ballet training with covert spy operations, after failing out, she turned towards boarder control. An incident occurred and a unknown group of individuals slipped passed during her guard and they end up killing someone very important. She was reprimanded but due to who her father was, simply being fired and removed from her position would suffice. The General no longer wanted her to bring shame to the family anymore so he prepared a plan.
Katya was sent to United States by her father for a 'special covert mission' that it pressing that it was within Los Santos. (Unknowing to Katya: He was sending her on a wild goose chase due to his beliefs that Los Santos is a shithole, and no amount of time there would matter, and she could no longer mess up, being well and out of the way.)
All Katya wants is to be seen by her father, earning back the honor that she's lost by doing as her father says, in hopes to impress him and in the end make him proud. In light of that, she is the worst spy that the KGB has in their ranks. Struggling hard to keep her secrets, and often times is unable to keep her secret identities and lies straight.
She might not yet be on top of spy game right now, whether she ever will be... time will tell.
Secret Identity Background[]
Katya has told people that both of her parents are dead, and that she's only half Russian and is an American Citizen due to her father though her mother who was a Russian prostitute who died during childbirth. She doesn't speak about it much just lets people know she's from Alaska. She tells people that she was a prostitute all throughout Law School, in order to pay for it. It's has slipped a few times about her feelings towards her father.
Character Arc[]
Katya had a whirlwind start within Los Santos, parties broken up, threats from cops of murder, drunk cop pool parties and a 'slow' speed chase landing her with a warrant for evading arrest; including landing her new friend in the hospital due to not knowing the local knowhow of American vehicles. Introduced herself as Emily Dough to others, and puts on her 'American' Persona.
Continuing her intel for the Motherland, she fines herself close with Berry Cades in hopes to infiltrate the PD, This turn into a decision that which she regretted, being gaslighted into a relationship, married all to become divorce within a day, which gave a bit emotional whiplash. Finding friendly faces like Ron Paxton who help her turn towards Jesus and become a 'Good Christian Girl' and stop wearing 'those prostitute clothes'. In turns, finds finds herself now with the centerfolds of the justice department as a Paralegal in hopes in becoming a Defense Attorney for Los Santos Department of Justice, due to the lack of Defense Attorneys in this town. Giving those a chance for representation, unlike what happened for her when she arrested for running from Shawn Becker, who continues to threaten and call her a commie. Though this also will give the simple perk; such as defending those who beat up Berry on the daily.
Soon after, Katya has decided to introduce herself by her true name, encouraged by while ensuring others know that, "Her mother was Russian." to deter people from suspecting her as a convert operative for the USSR. (The more truth that is relieved, the more intel she's provided for the motherland.)
Finding herself close with the most cops on the force, she found herself getting closer to Ron, all while gathering information for both her KGB handler, State and Defense Attorneys including Douglas Wade and Alice Williams, that she's shadowing prior to taking the bar and becoming one herself.
Fresh off the bar, and barely passing by one question, Katya just wanted to get into some type of government to continue her intel for the KGB and the motherland, she doesn't understand American Law, and is truly learning as she goes. (Back in Russia, if you were found guilty, you were thrown to The Room and more often then not, most didn't make it back.) Katya is getting her hands dirty and, gathering information and contemplating future cases to put in her portfolio and dossier for the motherland. Katya started off strong, taking on all types of cases, "Pro Bono" Not charging a soul, allowed all types of individuals to come across her and add to her caseloads. Between Ace Bishop, William White cases and daily cell visits to new expecting clients have led her to have stressful days, drinking binges a few days, and arriving to work in looking rushed and unprepared. Each passing day, she's been leaning towards the bottle more and more.
With the days leading up to her first big trial, she been dealing with clients blatantly lying, and basically making her life harder, chain smoking packs of cigarettes, and taking what little time she does have to spend time with her fiancé Ron, which allowed her to show her true self and express that she loves him but was tired of lying about not being a communist. Going into long rants about her father and the hatred she has towards him not caring. According to Ron, he wasn't going to divulge any information, and is "Not going to throw her to the wolves." As long as she no longer lies to him.
A drug infested couple of days lead Katya to go on a drinking binge after dealing with her emotional turmoil between having feelings for Ace and her backwards relationship with Ron (that started out with trying to get intel for the KGB.) Even finding herself in Ramona's arms after overdosing while drunkenly expressing everything to her. After almost breaking up, and calling off the wedding, they proposed that they go back to dating, talks of getting married by the weekend.
Katya officially broke off the wedding after Ron came rampaging into the Captains office during a conversation between Ace and herself discussing about the potentials of his cover being blown due to Reddy Godbee telling Katya that he's onto "Billy" which isn't good for either of them. During the "Magical Bus Ride" incident, she said that she was Billy's girlfriend and it got back to Ron. Ace spoke to her about practicing their 'undercover' work.(May or may not spoke about practicing making out) Emotions were stirred and she didn't believe that she was worth Ron trying to save.
After the relationship with Ron went south, Katya got together with Ace and is in a secret relationship (as intimate relationships with clients are an ethics issue). Initially things looking quite positive for Katya, but the calm didn't last long.
Katya got contacted by her Papa (Mikhail Markov) who was very disappointed in her and the progress of her mission. After doing some errands for him and stealing some police equipment, Mikhail had her kidnapped for a meeting. In this meeting she was severely beaten up and strangled. When she went to the police the intense bruises and hand-prints around the neck raised questions about her safety, and after a long talk with Robert Murdoch she decided to come clean about her ties to the Soviet Union.
As a follow up this got brought to the attention to Justice Wade Douglas (Katya trusts him) and Malcolm Nolan (because his federal ties) and a meeting between the four of them happened. Katya agreed to help the authorities who in the end are more interested in her father and his agent. To not raise any further suspicion they agreed that Katya should go about her daily live normally and report to Nolan and Wade about any contact with her dad.
Unfortunately after Ace openly admitted to Marjorie Bishop that he is in an intimate relationship with Katya, Marj filed an ethics-violation complaint against Katya with 7 separate points including (representing people in cells, having a relationship with a client and incompetency). Katya (still injured, and probably not being the greatest headspace) took Quaaludes at the beginning of the bar-hearing, admitted that she didn't want to be a lawyer anymore and finally overdosed. Katya barely made it thought, and still in coma was taken to Pillbox.
Chief Justice Lewis Rehnquist ruled to disbar Katya, but allowed her to work as a paralegal if she wants to.
After stabbing Wade for him lying and showing his true colors towards Katya, she was ruled to be banned from city hall and no allowed to be on city hall grounds. Katya continues to get notes from her Father stating that she was easier to find in her red car.
The Lost threatened Katya outright saying that they wouldn't hair a uniformed officer but she was basically fair game, if Ace Bishop continued his investigation of The Lost with the US Marshalls. Ace believe that they are scared, and backed into a corner believing that they are moving product and possible know about their current operation. Katya spoke to Ace about everything and she has now be set into hiding to protect herself while they deal with everything.
Along with Ace, the others Muffy, Enzo, Howie worked out a plan to fake Katya's death to prevent The Lost from taking matters into their own hand. Katya took on her aliases, Abigale Bempson she went to blow up her own car after a failed attempt the night before that everything went... swimmingly. Later that day after Murdoc was the one to find Katya's vehicle and sending a post to see if she was alright, the second time around it seemed that they were in the clear, until Katya was pulled over by Joe and Poppy for a issue with the current state of her car. The Marshalls were called and Ace told her to ocean again get a rental and stay low, he'll handle everything (all while being a Sugar Daddy and giving her 600 bucks). Thus Candy Astley, the stripper Barbie was born.
A few days later Katya spoke with the Marshalls and she was given the green light to come out of hiding, a whirlwind of a day, Meeting with Danny Marino which resulted in him shooting up her car and throwing threats around. Later that day, she met up with Sasha Lenkov who was working closely with her about her father Mikhail Markov, which she was concerned about due to the location being a known for torture, the Marshalls said not too, but she went anyways to be the maker of her own fate. Being emotional distressed after everyone began to not communicate information that would help her safety she headed to the airport, believing that she might be heading out of Los Santos one last time. (Screen Faded To Black)
Later that week she attended Stanley Tuttles' bail hearing as Candy Astley; her last cover, while at the courthouse, she was told by the new female "baby judge" to go retrieve a jacket due to the law stating "No Shoulders Shall be Shown In The Court Room." After confirming with Kitt O'Leary that there was no such law put in place within the city. She decided to return with just a jacket on and short skirt, being within regulation, she then return to the courtroom. Austin Kerr who was residing over the proceedings asked for her to stay back after the conclusion (It is well aware by now, that Austin Kerr has been out for Katya since her time as Lawyer) Deciding that she doesn't need to stay she quickly slipped outside the courtroom, and an attempt from the police officers to detained and bring her back to the courtroom.
A police pursuit occur which resulted in Candy running up onto the building across the street and jump, she then circled the same street once more and attempted the jump once more, this time her luck ran out. She fell directly onto her head, causing her skull break open and her spine snapped in half, due to the force of hitting the concrete.

The Day after her death, A memorial was made at the site of her death, with Kitt O'Leary taking on the movement, "Arms out For Katya. Free the Shoulders." Salvatore Greco allowed a day of mourning (more like 4 to 5 hours), and allowed City Hall to "Wear what they want, as a tribute to Katya Markov."
Due to the nature of her death, many people within the city believe that there was some sort of coverup with the police due to the fact, most people don't understand "How can a person fall off a building TWICE."
Two Days after her death, her car was involved in a robbery, confusing the PD but after running the plates and the confirmation was made by Bonnie. (RP Gods decided to create a spawn bug, due to it being in impound after clean-up.)
Three Days after her death, a mysterious woman by the name of Clarice Wayne, met with Enzo to pass on an envelope to Muffin after asking for her Autograph. This was after she gave a different name to Douglas Wade to see if she can meet with her, and he found Enzo first.
Enzo proceeding to show Muffin; as she was leaving city hall, as well as Greco the document, being that it was in Russian the three of them were unable to translate it. Greco's reaction was simple, being the fact that City Hall has been on high alert from an "Russian Attack" (He is currently convinced it all Jack Riley's doing.) He spoke to Enzo about pushing the Treason Charge.
Enzo then spoke to Malcolm Nolan about the document to asked if he would be able to translate it. While the PD was dealing with issues within the cells (may or may not involved more terror attacks upon the city.) Nolan was busy translating with his English to Russian Dictionary.
After a hell of a day for Nolan, he spoke to Enzo about the happenings that keep accruing around Katya. and gave him the translation.
Subject transferred on 28 June 1985 on order of Comrade Markov. Subject for retraining and reeducation. Enhanced techniques authorized. Keep isolated. Keep restrained. Do not allow to die. Subject is a trained intelligence operative, use caution. One guard killed on transportation.

Ace Bishop finally got word of her whereabouts, and spoke to Enzo Valentino and Muffy Marshall saying that a marriage is not a good time, while brainstorming how to get over to the Soviet Union to save Katya from the communist.
One Week after her death (The Day of Katya's Funeral), a secondary autopsy was done of the body of whom they believe to Katya on order of Justice Douglas Wade, Captain Malcolm Nolan, Lieutenant Bonnie McDowell along with Senior Officer Zane Spade due to the incident that occurred during the funeral (See Ana Watson's Wiki). It was said that Wade, has given the cadaver's name Emily, to ensure and find out the leaks. The two doctors who processed by Director Ruby Montgomery and Deputy Director Francesca Rooni, the Board of Directors of Pill Box Medical.
Findings Included:
Tattoo was found inside of her cheek that states ИТК-6 (Translated to Perm-36), Shaved, and found with a wig super glued to her scalp, fingernails were ripped off and replaced with plastic acrylic. Cyanide Pill was found within the contexts of the stomach, along with her tongue. Scars and whip marks were found on her back. There was no sign of ever having tattoos. The cadaver was missing her uterus, bruising around the wrist and ankles. After a full search, a single public hair was found.
There is talks between the doctors that they are in need of Katya's hair brush in order to solidify their findings and pass them along to the investigation party.
